Course | Moodle 4.1 Discussion Forums | ||||||
Description | The Forum activity in Moodle provides a platform for asynchronous online discussions among students and instructors within a course. It allows participants to post messages, attach files and media, reply to existing posts, and engage in threaded conversations on various topics related to the course content. The forum supports different discussion formats, including Q&A, standard discussions, and peer-to-peer feedback. Instructors can moderate discussions, set access restrictions, and grade participation, fostering collaborative learning and communication in virtual classrooms. In this workshop, we will discuss: • Types of forums in Moodle • Benefits of using forums • Examples of using forums • Best practices and things to avoid while using the activity This is an overview workshop. Please refer to the Forum module on the Help for Instructors page on Moodle for step-by-step instructions and set-up guidelines. We highly encourage you to complete the eLearning module before attending the workshop: https://moodle.concordia.ca/moodle/mod/scorm/view.php?id=3689810 This workshop is lead by IITS Training Team. |
