Course Moodle 4.1 - Question Bank and Quiz Setup (IN PERSON)
Description The Quiz activity in Moodle is a versatile tool for creating assessments, quizzes, and exams. Instructors can design various question types within the question bank, including multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and essay questions. Instructors can set parameters within the quiz such as time limits and grading methods. It allows for automatic grading and provides detailed feedback to both instructors and students, fostering an interactive and engaging learning environment.
The Question bank in Moodle is a central repository where instructors can store and organize a wide range of questions for use in quizzes, exams, and other assessments. It allows for easy management and categorization of questions into different topics or difficulty levels. Instructors can create, edit, import, and export questions from the question bank, enabling efficient reuse across multiple courses and assessments.

In this hands-on workshop, we will first demonstrate how to create and organize your questions and then how to create, set-up and add questions to the quiz activity. We will go over the following:

• Navigate to question bank
• Explore the interface and new features
• Explore the most common questions types
• Create categories and questions
• Organize questions in categories
• Preview a sample quiz from a student perspective
• Add the quiz activity
• Explore the set-up interface
• Add questions
• Access the students’ attempts and grades
• Identify best practices and things to avoid

Please refer to the Quizzes module on the Help for Instructors page on Moodle for a reference on the step-by-step instructions and set-up guidelines.
